Waterholes play a vital role in regulating animal behavior and they influence the functioning of ecosystems. An image of a tiger has been captured by a camera trap installed at the waterhole management activity site carried out at Phrumsengla National Park (PNP). Towards October 2020, images of ungulates such as Sambar deer, which is one of the primary prey for tigers, was also captured using camera traps set at the waterhole.
Now, in August 2021, a tiger being captured in the same vicinity which shows that these habitat improvement activities carried out in PNP are benefitting the wildlife in the area.
