Roles & Responsibilities
Bhutan for Life has a fully independent Secretariat headed by an Executive Director with a responsibility to carry out the management of day-to-day activities of the BFL Fund. With regard to the BFL Program, the BFL Fund Secretariat is main interlocutor with the Royal Government of Bhutan (RGoB), and in particular with the BFL PCU to ensure that funding requests, reports and other information are comprehensive and of sufficient quality to enable the Board to make informed decisions.
The BFL Fund Secretariat also supports the Board by monitoring compliance with legal obligations and the regulations of the Operating Manual. The BFL Fund Secretariat have a quality control responsibility for all documents submitted by the PCU for Board’s consideration.
Secretariat staff, both program and financial conduct timely field monitoring to ascertain physical and financial progress of BFL Fund funded activities.
The Secretariat also supports the BFL Fund as an institution by providing services to the Board and carrying out the numerous financial and administrative tasks of an organization.
