Ms. Rebecca Pradhan
Ms. Rebecca Pradhan is the member to the Bhutan for Life Board of Trustees representing Non Government Organization. She served as an Ecologist at the Royal Society for Protection of Nature. She has been instrumental in the conservation of Bhutan’s critically endangered White-bellied heron, a cause to which she has devoted much of her time and effort. In addition, her extensive knowledge of the flora and fauna of the Himalayas has been documented in two books she authored: “Wild Rhododendrons of Bhutan” and “Threatened Birds in Bhutan”.
Mrs. Pradhan has been recognized internationally for her unstinted and lifelong contributions to environmental conservation, both at the policy making level and in the field. In 1997 the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) presented her with the Abraham Conservation Award and in 2008 she received the Khosho Memorial Award for Conservation.
