Mr.Michael Philipp

Mr. Michael Philipp currently serves as the Chairperson of the Bhutan for Life Board of Trustees. He previously served as the Vice Chairperson and was the Chairperson of the Bhutan for Life Finance and Investment Committee (FIC) from 2019 to 2022. Mr. Philipp represents the International Private Donors through WWF-US on the Bhutan for Life Board of Trustees.

He is also the Chairman of Reykjavik Geothermal Ltd., a geothermal power development company based in Iceland, and the Managing Partner of Ambata Capital Partners, an international advisory and investment firm with offices in New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco. Additionally, he has served as Chairman of the Environmental Business Group.

Mr. Philipp was the CEO of Deutsche Asset Management from 2000 to 2002 and a Member of the Board of Managing Directors. Having joined Deutsche Bank in 1995, he played a key role in establishing its global investment banking operations. He holds a B.A. in Fine Arts, an M.B.A. in Finance, and an honorary Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts.
