Mr. Tshering Dorji

Mr. Tshering Dorji is the member to the Bhutan for Life Board of Trustees representing the National Designated Authority under the Department of Macro-fiscal and Development Finance. He currently serves as the Director of Department of Macro-Fiscal and Development Finance (DMDF) under Ministry of Finance which is the National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund-the principal donor to the Bhutan for life Program.

Mr. Tshering Dorji assumed the position in 2024; orchestrating the development coordination and debt management besides steering macro-fiscal policies.

Before the current leadership, Mr. Dorji served as the Advisor to the Executive Director of EDS 12 representing Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka at the World Bank Headquarter in Washington DC. From 2017-2022, Mr. Tshering Dorji was the Director of the erstwhile Department of Public Accounts.

Mr. Dorji adds to his professional career, 26 years of experience in the stream of financial services and budgetary processes having delivered key positions as the Head of the Debt Management Division (2014-2016) and Secretary to the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly of Bhutan (2006-2007).

His professional engagement includes the Voice Secondment Program (VSP) with the World Bank Group; the Executive Education Program at Harvard Kennedy School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, the USA; and the Executive Leadership Program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, India. He represents MoF in the Boards of Directors of Corporations, Financial Institutions, Trust Funds, CSOs and Projects. He is the Operational Focal Point to the Global Environment Facility, the National Designated Authority to the Green Climate Fund and the Designated Authority to the Adaptation Fund.

Mr. Dorji has an MBA from the School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Further, he holds a postgraduate Certificate Course in Financial Management from the Royal Institute of Management, Bhutan, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from Delhi University, India. He is a member of the CPA Australia.
